By far the largest users of ETFs in Spain are funds of funds. The Spanish asset management market is estimated to have approximately $450bn total assets under management (AUM), according to a recent report from BLACKWATER. Of this, approximately $80bn is held in ETFs and 70% of that is held by funds of funds. Spain has around $11bn in index mutual funds.
